The problem
AI resume tools happily fabricate metrics, skills, and employers — and one invented bullet can cost a candidate the job. Meanwhile tailoring a resume by hand for every posting takes an evening each time.
Key decisions
- 01
A mechanical truthfulness guard: before any tailored resume is saved, every date, metric, skill, role, company, and certification in the output is checked against the base resume. Fail once, the model retries with a stricter prompt; fail twice, the app falls back to the untouched base resume and explains exactly what the AI tried to add.
- 02
Jobs come from three free, keyless public APIs (Remotive, RemoteOK, Jobicy) — real postings, each toggleable, no scraping.
- 03
Everything runs locally: resume, API keys, application history, and generated files never leave the user's machine. Exports are a clean one-page PDF and an ATS-friendly single-column DOCX.
Outcome
One-click tailoring per posting with a guarantee most AI tools won't make: if it isn't in your real resume, it isn't in the tailored one.
